Scholarships and Participation Grants

HTAi offers various scholarships and participation grants (former travel grants) to support individuals residing in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) to further their knowledge of HTA.

The Jill Sanders Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is offered in memory of Dr. Jill Sanders, former Vice President of HTAi and President and CEO of the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health. Dr. Sanders was a long-time champion of international collaboration in Health Technology Assessment (HTA). She was deeply committed to building HTA capacity in developing countries and to mentoring students and professionals. The Jill Sanders Memorial Scholarship provides funding for individuals residing in African countries to further their knowledge of HTA. The program objective is to have a positive impact on HTA capacity in African countries through developing professional HTA capacity.

The Health Technology Assessment international (HTAi) Jill Sanders Memorial Scholarship provides funding support for individuals studying or working in the healthcare field in African countries to advance their knowledge and skills directly related to health technology assessment (HTA). By providing financial assistance to complete education programs or training in health technology assessment for the purpose of applying their knowledge and skills in their country of origin, HTAi advances its mission of promoting the development, communication, understanding, and use of HTA around the world.

A total of $20,000 CAD is available for the HTAi Jill Sanders Memorial Scholarship program each fiscal year.

HTAi Participation Grants

The HTAi Participation Grants provide support to HTA stakeholders who would otherwise not be able to attend the HTAi Annual Meeting for the purpose of presenting their work or otherwise benefiting from participation in the global HTA community. These grants are funded directly by HTAi and in some cases, are sponsored by external parties on an unconditional basis.
